Ricochet is proud to welcome Shane George as our new Southern Territory Manager. With a lifelong dedication to the fire service and a deep commitment to education, teamwork, and firefighter safety, Shane brings an unmatched perspective to serving departments across the Southern region.
Shane’s connection to the fire service began early—very early.
“I have dreamed of serving the fire service since early childhood,”
he shares. By the age of 14, Shane was already volunteering and giving back to his local community, setting the foundation for a career defined by service.
What continues to drive him today is simple yet powerful: the impact.
“The best paycheck a firefighter can get is ‘thank you’ from someone who needed help in their darkest days.”
That sense of purpose has carried Shane from his volunteer days into a long and respected career, where the mission remains the same—answer the call and meet the needs of others.
Over the years, Shane has been part of exceptional departments and elite teams serving at both local and national levels. From major incidents to large-scale deployments across the country, he has seen firsthand what happens when committed professionals come together with a shared goal.
“These opportunities all come from dedication to the job and the desire to want more out of this career,”
Shane says. For him, the most profound moments aren’t defined by individual achievement, but by the collective strength of the team.
Shane’s transition into sales was a natural extension of his passion for learning and teaching.
“I am a student and an educator,” he explains. “If you educate your peers, they can make informed decisions on their gear, their equipment, and their health and safety—both for their fire family and their home family.”
That educational mindset is what drives Shane’s approach every day. He sees his role not as a salesperson, but as a partner—someone who shares real-world experience to help departments make choices that lead to safer operations and longer, healthier careers.
When it comes to solving customer challenges, Shane is quick to emphasize collaboration.
“I’m only a piece of the puzzle,” he says. “The solution comes from collected knowledge and experience from all parties involved.”
Shane believes the fire service’s greatest strength lies in its diversity of backgrounds and experiences. By working together, firefighters don’t just solve the problem at hand—they build knowledge that benefits the next generation.
“A great team working together will share the experience for those who come after us,” he notes.
Ask Shane about selecting structural fire gear, and his answer reflects both technical knowledge and practical experience. Choosing the right gear, he explains, goes far beyond checking a box.
“It starts with the right textiles and composites,"
Shane says, but also requires understanding the department’s environment, tactics, and the other ensembles firefighters wear. Just as importantly, departments must be educated on what their gear can—and cannot—do.
“It’s like any other profession,” he adds. “You pick the right tools for the right job. Sometimes one tool doesn’t fit all, so flexibility and resources are essential.”
For Shane, Ricochet’s mission aligns perfectly with his values.and cannot—do.
“Ricochet took the initiative to find a cut of gear like no other,”
he explains. Mobility, comfort, and proper fit aren’t luxuries—they’re necessities in an already demanding and physically abusive job.
“When your gear fits right, your body can save energy for the job, and your mind can focus on the emergency instead of fighting your gear.”
Shane sums it up simply: Right Fit. Right Mind. Best Outcome.
As Southern Territory Manager, Shane George brings authenticity, experience, and a deep respect for the fire service to everything he does. Ricochet is excited to have him representing our brand, supporting departments, and continuing the work of protecting those who protect us all.
Welcome to the Ricochet family, Shane.
