Assure™ 

Milliken Assure™ is a lightweight, non-PFAS, non-halogenated flame-resistant moisture barrier designed for structural firefighting turnout gear. Engineered to support liquid and pathogen protection, breathability and durability, Assure is UL® certified to NFPA 1970-2025 and meets the standard’s optional Total Fluorine Requirement. As part of the complete turnout gear composite, Assure provides departments with a non-PFAS moisture barrier option without sacrificing the protection and performance required on the fireground.

Liquid and Pathogen Protection: Non-PFAS barrier protects against hazardous liquids.

• Assure™ is engineered to help protect against hazardous liquids, including blood-borne pathogens, hydraulic fluids, battery acids, firefighting foam and other hazardous liquids. Milliken reports a “No Penetration” result in its liquid barrier testing.

Thermal Protection: 3-layer construction provides extra protection 

• Unlike most moisture barriers that are only two layers of fabric, Assure is a 3-layer moisture barrier. This additional layer increases thermal protection. It also does not melt, drip or separate.

Strength: 16W x 23F

• Assure is 3x stronger than the requirement, extending the life of the equipment.

Abrasion Resistance: > 10K cycles

• With a unique 3-layer design, Assure performs 2x better than competitive products in abrasion testing, extending the life of the moisture barrier.

Lightweight Construction: 5.7 oz/yd²

• Similar weight to current commercial products, with the added protection and durability benefits that a 3-layer membrane offers.
